It was a natural for the staff and administrators of the Abe Stark Senior Citizen Center on Farragut Road to choose Rabbi Raoul Shorr to handle the entertainment for their First Annual Chanukah Celebration last Thursday. The spiritual leader of Canarsie’s Temple Shaare Emeth is also an actor and entertainer who was able to come up with just the right entertainment to make the celebration something extra special. He also was able to talk Assemblyman Frank Seddio to come along, say a few words to the members and, yes, dance up a storm!

"What I wanted to do was provide a real, old-time Chanukah party," said Rabbi Shorr, "also with a beautiful, festive meal, including latkes and donuts, and the lighting of candles."

Of course, the seniors agreed that they all had a wonderful time and that they look forward to the Second Annual celebration next year.
