Police from the 69 Precinct are searching for a man they say is the suspect in a drive-by shooting assault that took place on August 31 in front of a Breukelen Houses building.

Detective Sergio Majuri, who is handling the case, said Sean Redding, 22, of 569 East 108 Street in the Breukelen complex, is wanted in connection with the shooting of a 19-year-old resident of another building there as the victim sat in his car in front of 621 East 105 Street with a friend. The victim’s name was not released.

The witness told Detective Majuri she and the victim were sitting in the car facing north on East 105 Street when a green BMW with two male blacks pulled up next to the car and the passenger in the BMW pointed a handgun at them and fired numerous shots, one of which struck the victim in the shoulder. The BMW then sped off in an unknown direction.

The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital by Emergency Medical Service ambulance.

Sean Redding is also known as Sean Ciullo. He has a prior record of violence and, Majuri says, the BMW is registered to him.

"He could be in the company of his brother, who was not identified at the scene of the shooting but, nevertheless, is also being sought," said the detective. The brother’s name is Alfred McCune, also known as "Alfie," who lives at the same address.

Redding could have fled to Virginia, where he has relatives.

Charges against Redding could range from assault to menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Majuri at 257-6215. All calls will be kept strictly confidential.
