SHARON STONESHARON STONE

If Sandra Bullock’s career ever falters she will still be financially fit. Miss Bullock has invested wisely in real estate, owning several homes in the Los Angeles area; a stone farmhouse in Austin, Texas (where she spends a great deal of her time); a house in Jackson Hole, Wyo.; and one on Tybee Island in Georgia. However, I doubt seriously she will have any problems soon, what with "The Ya-Ya Sisterhood" doing well at movie hou-ses, and in December, her movie with Hugh Grant hits the screens. ... And if she’s looking for other work properties, she should latch on to a book titled "Flesh Tints" by new author M.J. Rose. Bullock would be perfect for the lead role in this story of suspected murder in the art world.

Sharon Stone’s next is "Cold Creek Manor" opposite Dennis Quaid. It’s the story of a family that moves from the big city to a small town only to be harassed by the former occupants of their farmhouse. ... After this she goes into two other films, which should keep her busy for some time to come. Then of course, there is Mr. Bronstein and their son, Roan, plus which her father is ailing — and that’s worrisome. Through it all she manages to keep her cool and her beauty.

Tommy Lee Jones’ next is a comedy titled "Cheer Up," about a group of dysfunctional cheerleaders who witness a murder during one of their com-petitions. Tommy Lee is a hardened FBI veteran who must coexist with the girls while avoiding the gunmen who are trying to knock them off. After seeing Jones perform and dance at sev-eral after-preem parties, one is amazed at all his skills.

Aside to Rowellea Geoffroy of Claremont, N.H. You asked about Van Johnson. I can tell you that he lives in New York, and other than a hearing problem, I understand he is OK. He was born in Rhode Island on Aug. 25, 1916, and you can write him at 40 E. 54th St., New York, N.Y. 10022.

Hard to recognize Al Pacino with hair bleached a pale blond for an up-coming role, and Brad Pitt looking like a scruffy hobo in big hat, wire-frame glasses, a long, long beard, long hair and a grubby coat. AND I DON’T THINK this was for any role. That’s just his latest look.

BITS ‘N’ PIECES: They may not be "young and sexy" young, but when Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson hit the screen, you KNOW they are THERE! They’re both tops in "K-19: The Wi-dowmaker." ... Since separating from husband Cris Judd, J. Lo has dated Ben Affleck, Ralph Fiennes and Marc An-thony. ... Aside to Louella G. of Chica-go. As far as I know, Jack Nicholson isn’t steady dating anyone since his split with Lara. I’ll keep on top of it for you. ... Sarah Jessica Parker is really letting it all hang out, and she’s already talking about having another baby. ... Aside to Margaret K. of St. Augustine, Fla. Yes. Zsa Zsa Gabor still lives here and in her Bel Air mansion, but since the death of her mother and two sisters she has become a recluse. ... Didya know that Sly Stallone has some of his paintings hanging in art galleries? He’s that good.
