"Nam Knights" Vets Group Pays Annual Visit To Families With A Heart

Motorcycling members of the Nam Knights, a Brooklyn-based veterans organization, are shown with Jean and Margaret Paul and Nona and Mel Roberts and their foster and adopted children on Remsen Avenue after presenting them with a sleigh-load of Christmas toys last weekend.

The Pauls and Roberts, who have taken in foster children for years — and adopted a number of them — were chosen as recipients of the holiday gifts not only to assist them in brightening the season for the youngsters, but to thank them for their years of unselfish service to others. The Nam Knights say they perform the charitable acts "in gratitude for having survived the Vietnam War."

The group goes out every holiday season to present gifts to those who they believe have gone out of their way to help others, not only during the holiday season, but all year long.
