Decked Out for Christmas!
     One of the most exquisitely decorated houses in Brooklyn - and perhaps the entire city - during the holiday season is the residence (above as it looked last year) in Bergen Beach at National and Arkansas drives. With several alterations this year, the brightly-lit home attracts a daily stream of visitors. "Nam Knights" Vets Group Pays Annual Visit To Families With A Heart
     Motorcycling members of the Nam Knights, a Brooklyn-based veterans organization, are shown with Jean and Margaret Paul and Nona and Mel Roberts and their foster and adopted children on Remsen Avenue after presenting them with a sleigh-load of Christmas toys last weekend.

State Gives Suggestions On How To Return Those Holiday Gifts
     Some holiday presents cannot be returned or repaired if purchased at certain stores and certain times, the New York State Consumer Protection Board ("CPB") warned. While the CPB can help consumers mediate disputes with stores, the agency warns that there is no state law requiring stores to take back merchandise or refund money for undamaged goods.

Cop Cars Crash On Parkway
     Police from the 69th Precinct are shown investigating scene of accident on Rockaway Parkway across from Canarsie High School last Thursday. Reports issued at the time indicate two patrol vehicles collided while they were on the way to a crime scene. One of the cars also crashed into a parked car. No one was seriously injured, police said.

Jury Hearing Testimony In Year-Old Youth Murder
     A 17-year-old Canarsie resident is currently on trial in Brooklyn Supreme Court after being arrested a year ago and charged with the murder of a 12-year-old boy outside Canarsie High School.

Boro Residents To Participate In Dec. 23rd Olympic Torch Relay
     The Olympic Torch, which is on a 65-day, 13,500 mile journey from Greece to Salt Lake City for the 2002 Winter Olympics, will be carried by a succession of residents through Brooklyn as part of the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Torch Relay on Sunday, December 23.
