Beware Of Local Car Robbers

Brooklyn South police, including those from the 69th and 63rd Precincts, are looking for three suspects who work independently or as a team to take property from inside cars, according to Assistant Chief Joseph Fox.

Detectives say the suspects will try to zero in on a victim coming from a bank and intentionally flatten the tire of his or her car. When the victim gets out of the car to examine the tire, the suspects furtively remove property, such as a pocketbook.

"The suspects’ mode of operation is usually distraction, in one way or another," said a Brooklyn South official, who noted that on one occasion the suspect displayed a firearm.

The suspects are described as Hispanic, between the ages of 20 and 30, five-feet, two to five-feet, eight and weighing anywhere from 115 to 150 lbs. They have Spanish accents.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. Charles Rogers
