"All-Clear" After Local Post Office Alert
     Police from the 69th Precinct were quickly dispatched to the Canarsie Post Office (above) on Flatlands Avenue yesterday when they were alerted that while mail was being sorted a package containing "a white powder" was discovered at about 11 a.m. Mail distribution was delayed while Emergency Services and Hazardous Materials units inspected the premises. An "all-clear" was declared at about 2 p.m. Police and Postal officials agreed that it was better to be safe than sorry. Charles Rogers
