STAVROS CASSADINE COMES BACK TO LIFE: Presumed dead at the hands of Luke Spencer almost 20 years ago, the character of Stavros Cassadine will return to life on "General Hospital" on Friday, June 1. The role of Stavros, whose return will escalate the Cassadine/Spencer feud even higher, will be played by daytime veteran Robert Kelker-Kelly. Kelly, who portrayed several characters on "Another World," is probably best known to soap fans for his three years as Bo Brady on "Days of Our Lives." On "General Hospital," Angel Boris has been cast as Angel. She will launch the role on Thursday, June 7. And it appears that Robin Christopher’s character, Skye, will stick around to cause family discord on "GH." At the moment there are no plans to send her back to "One Life to Live." Jack Scalia has been cast in the contract role of Chris Stamp on "All My Children." The character, a janitor at Enchantment, will be more then what he appears. Scalia’s role debuts on Thursday, June 28. "Bold and Beautiful" is stepping up its Latin presence with the casting of several new characters. The first to air is Paolo Bendeti as a fashion designer for Spectra. He starts Thursday, May 29. Lyndsy Fonseca has won the role of Colleen Carlton on "Young and Restless," and debuts on Monday, May 28. Actress Beth Maitland, whose character, Traci, is Colleen’s mother, begins a visit of several weeks to "Y&R" on May 28. June, the traditional wedding month, will offer many classic soap- opera wedding memories on SoapNet. Starting Monday, June 4 through July 1, the cable channel will rebroadcast nuptials including Nina and Cliff tying the knot on "AMC," and Bo and Nora’s rock ‘n’ roll gala on "OLTL." "AMC’s" Mark Pinter (Roger), has just wrapped up work on director Cameron Crowe’s new film, "Vanilla Sky," which stars Tom Cruise. The romantic movie is scheduled for fall release. Pinter has also launched a new Web site, www.markpinter.homestead.com. |
