What Was Up...Comes Down
     Old-time Canarsiens and local history buffs were saddened two months ago when a huge fire destroyed the mansion at the corner of Conklin Avenue and East 92nd Street. Last Friday, the distress deepened when the house, which stood in its grandeur for more than a century, was knocked down.
