Grilling is one of Joe and Jennifer Montana’s favorite ways to entertain. Because it offers minimal preparation and easy cleanup, cooking on the grill is the perfect way to feed crowds big and small. And, Joe knows that whether he’s cooking for his former teammates or his family, the flavor of grilled foods fires up everyone’s appetite. This summer, the Montanas are serv-ing up some of their foolproof tips to help you grill like a seasoned pro: • When it comes to burgers, this All-American has a couple tricks up his sleeve. Joe’s secret to bold-flavored, mouth-watering burgers is shake-on seasonings such as McCormick® Grill Mates® Hamburger Seasoning. Shake-on seasonings feature all your favorite herbs and spices-already blended -so there’s no measuring and no guesswork. Just shake and go! • Marinating meats is another quick way to add robust flavor and help keep meats moist while grilling. For added convenience, take advantage of a variety of McCormick marinade mixes avail-able at the grocery store. • Joe’s not the only expert at the grilling game. Jennifer knows that vegetables also make great grill mates. She tosses them with a little oil and then sprinkles on her favorite seasoning blends to prepare them for the flames. Here are a few of her rules of thumb for delicious grilled vegetables: • Bell peppers-Remove stems, quarter and cut into 1-inch-wide strips. Grill 8-10 minutes. • Corn-Remove husks and wash. Brush with melted margarine and wrap in foil. Grill 20 minutes. • Zucchini-Wash and cut lengthwise, 1/2-inch thick. Grill 5-6 minutes. • Know the score. Make sure you have enough charcoal or propane be-fore cooking. The secret’s out! Here’s Joe and Jennifer’s favorite burger recipe, which is sure to be a fan favorite at your next backyard barbecue.
