Young Israel Vice Presidents Irving Steinfeld and Barbara Rubin, invite the community to be with us at services during the coming Shavuos holiday and throughout the year. Services for Friday evening parshas Emor begin at 7 PM. Candle lighting for our congregants is 7:10 PM. Shabbos morning services begin at 9 AM. Following services, the congregation is cordially invited to the kiddush hosted by several members of the Synagogue. Mincha Shabbos at 7:50 p.m. and seudah shelishis hosted by the Leicher family in observance of the Yarzect of their brother. Shabbos ends with havadala at 9:02 PM. This week’s Perek class hosted by the Rabbinical Board of Canarsie will be held at the Sephardic Jewish Center at E. 94th St and Flatlands. Rabbi Myron Rakowitz will conduct the class at 4 PM. Refreshments are served. We regret the incorrect information printed in last week’s column. The festival of Shavuos commemorating the giving of the Torah at Mt. Sinai begins on Tuesday evening May 25th. Candle lighting Tuesday at 7:57 p.m. and Wednesday evening not before 9:06 PM. Evening services both days at 8:05 PM. Morning services at 9 AM. Yishor memorial services at 10:30 Wednesday morning. Yom Tov ends Wednesday evening at 9:07 PM with havadala. Mazal Tov to our Young Israel as it celebrates its 40th anniversary of service to the community this Shavuos.
