Thursday is a Holy Day of Obligation: On Thursday we celebrate the Feast Of The Ascension of Jesus to the Father. These forty days since the Easter Resurrection, Jesus spent instructing his disciples and "backing-up" what he taught with many demonstrations...fine tuning for the day when they would have to live it out for themselves. THEY DID! And this Holy Day celebrates that moment. I’m sure they soon discovered, as we certainly have, that "practicing what we preach is not as easy as it seems"! The Holy Spirit would descend their lives on Pentecost Sunday, as into our lives daily...wonderful things Did and Still Happen! Holy Day Mass Schedule: 9:00 A.M., Noon, 8:00 P.M.

Holy Family Parish Committee invites you to a Kick-Off cultural wave Gala Event to help us celebrate the upcoming (Oct. 2005) 125th Anniversary of Holy Family on Saturday, June 5, 2004, 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM at Holy Family School.

On Wednesday and Thursday, (June 16 & 17) we will begin the Triduum of devotions, exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction (7:30 to 8:30 PM)...Requirement for enrollment in the Sacred Heart apostolates: On Friday, June 18th, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we will celebrate a Formal Enrollment Ceremony for the Parish, and also families, homes and individuals of the Parish in Church at 7:30 PM followed by a social in the Caferteria.

Religious Education News: New Registration for the 2004-2005 year of our Religious Education Pro-gram will take place on the following dates in the school: Sunday, May 23rd after 9:30, 11:15 & 12:45 Masses, Wednesday, June 2nd 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, Thursday, June 10th 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

Religious Education Program: We need a few more catechists for Sunday classes beginning September 19th from 9:30 AM to Noon (including Mass). Give us a call at 718-257-8016. There is also a need for catechists to work with children with special needs. We know there are some certified special education teachers in our parish. If any of you would be available to give approximately one half hour a week (weekends or weekdays) as a catechist, please call Miss Elizabeth Mathew in the Religious Education Office at 718-257-8016.

Little Catholic Program: Do you have a four or five year old child? Why not enroll him/her in our Little Catholic Program on Sunday mornings from September to May. It is fun time for young children in which they discover God’s love as they are helped, through storytelling, arts and crafts and other activities, to focus on God’s gifts of our world, our life, Jesus, and our family and friends. Please call the Religious Education Office at 718-257-8016 for information on registration.
