At The Plate

Nearly three dozen people stepped up to home plate at KeySpan Park in Coney Island last Friday with stadium lights shining bright on them for the performance of a lifetime as the Brooklyn Cyclones hosted an open call for singers on a first come, first sing basis. Participants in the competition will be invited to sing the National Anthem at Cyclones homes games throughout the Single A Mets’ affiliate season this summer. Those at the audition had one minute to sing The Star Spangled Banner — a cappella — at the try-out.
