TV Q&A By Evelyn Ludvigson 2004 Media, NC Q: I am so disgusted by all the foul language on HBO’s "Deadwood" series. Why is this even allowed? Kim D. A: For starters, it’s a cable channel, which gives the show a lot more leeway in terms of language and sexual content. Second, the producers say they did a great deal of research into how these denizens of the West really spoke, and it’s authentic. Apparently, they did swear a lot. My advice? Don’t watch if you find it offensive. * * * Q: Now that Dylan McDermott is off "The Practice", what will he be doing? John F. A: Right now, Dylan is busy filming "Edison" with Kevin Spacey, Mor-gan Freeman and Justin Timberlake. The flick centers around a newsman who discovers a ring of corrupt cops. He’s also going to play the lead in the TV miniseries, "Grid," wherein he’ll portray an FBI man. * * * Q: I read where Sean P. Diddy Combs is doing something on Broadway. I can’t imagine him as a serious actor. What’s the name of the show? Is it a musical? Kayla T. A: Combs has the lead role in the revival of "Raisin in the Sun." From all reports, he does quite well and holds his own acting-wise opposite Phylicia Rashad and Audra McDonald. "Raisin" is not a musical. It’s a very serious drama. I recommend you get a copy of the 1960s movie starring Sidney Poi-tier so you can see what it’s all about. It’s excellent. * * * Q: I really miss Lucy Lawless in "Xena". I was sad, too, when the WB cancelled "Tarzan" wherein she played his aunt. What’s she up to now? Linda M. A: Lucy is slated to appear in the movie, "Boogeyman," set to be re-leased in August. She also has a part in the flick, "Eurotrip," which was re-cently released. * * * Send questions to Ev c/o DBR Media, Inc., P.O. Box 21, Hopewell Jct., NY 12533, or e-mail: deckert @dbrmedia.com.
