Borough President Celebrates Jewish Heritage


Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and the Brooklyn Jewish Heritage Committee hosted Brooklyn Jewish Heritage Night: A Salute to Israel, at Brooklyn Borough Hall on April 26. Each year Markowitz recognizes the contributions and achievements of Jewish individuals in every aspect of American culture. This year he honored Chaim Deutsch, President of the Flatbush Shomrim Safety Patrol; David Glass, a Jewish war veteran; Douglas H. Jablon, special assistant to the president and vice president of Patient Relations at Maimonides Medical Center; and Miriam Lubling, president and founder of Rivkah Laufer Bikur-Cholim.
