Brooklyn Museum Presents Free Family Programs In May and June The Brooklyn Museum will offer a variety of family events in May and June, including art-making projects and storytelling. These programs are free with Museum admission and free for Members and for children under 12 accompanied by an adult. Stories & Art features storytellers, authors, and educators telling tales inspired by the Museum’s collections on Saturdays at 4 p.m. Note: There will be no Stories & Art on May 29 because of the holiday. Programs on May 8 and June 12 will be Sign Lan-guage interpreted. On May 8, Native American dancer and storyteller Candece Tarpley will present an interactive program titled "Cherokee Stories" in the newly re-opened Hall of the Americas. On May 15, join Natacha Dockery for "Sleeping Beauty" and other stories with magical mirrors. The program for May 22 features tales of magical flowers from Asia and other parts of the world. On June 5, take a ride with Changa Bey to a world of magic carpets and genies. June 12 will feature stories about summer camp, treks to the beach, and family trips. Allison Day presents "Father Knows Best" on June 19. And on June 26, join Alice Steven-son for "Tall Tales," including "The Cat in the Hat" and "How the Leopard Got His Spots." Arty Facts, the popular family program for children ages four to seven and their adult friends, combines looking at art and a studio project. Arty Facts meets by the Membership Desk every Saturday and Sunday promptly at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. May’s theme is "What Are You Wearing?" and June’s is "Inside and Outside." Please do not bring siblings younger than four or older than seven. There wi11 be no Arty Facts May 29 or 30, Arty Facts will be Sign Language interpreted at 11 a.m. on May 8, May 23, June 12, and June 27, Family programs are free with Museum admission unless otherwise noted.
