Cyclones Tickets Going, Going… Almost GONE
With spring in the air, crowds of fans lined up at KeySpan Park in Coney Island when single game tickets went on sale to the public for the Brooklyn Cyclones’ upcoming fourth season. Even Borough President Marty Markowitz showed up to cheer up the devotees. To date, the Cyclones report having sold approximately 80 percent of their season capacity. Great seats are still available for fans looking for some summertime fun. John Montebianco, of Marine Park, made sure he scored tickets to the game he wanted. Holding the first spot in line, he camped out nearly 24 hours before the ticket window opened for single game sales. "This brings back memories of Dodger games at Ebbets Field," he said. Sandy the Seagull kept everyone waiting in line entertained with trivia contests and prizes. King Henry and two clowns played with the kids and painted their faces. Giveaways were also handed out to fans on line. "Cyclones fans are really excited for our fourth season to start," said Steve Cohen, General Manager of the Brooklyn Cyclones. "For the first time we are happy to reserve five hundred tickets for day of game sales to accommodate fans unable to purchase tickets in advance." The Cyclones began selling tickets through the team’s website, www.brooklyncyclones.com, as well as through the Shea Stadium box office Tuesday. Non-refundable service charges will apply for all phone and Internet orders. Season tickets, group and mini-plans are still available. The Brooklyn Cyclones are the Class-A affiliate of the New York Mets. Last year, the Cyclones completed an exciting season by playing in the league championship series. Ticket information is available by calling 718-449-TIXS, by visiting the team’s website at www.brooklyncyclones .com, or by calling the Shea Stadium box office at 718-507-TIXX.
