Brooklyn Baseball Boosts Book


Brooklyn Public Library welcomed the Brooklyn Cyclones “Book Patrol” team to read to local elementary students on April 21 at the Homecrest Library on Coney Island Ave. The event celebrated the 15th annual Great New York Read Aloud, sponsored statewide by various organizations, taking place during National Library Week. The Patrol read baseball-themed books to 50 elementary students from P.S. 153. Cyclones mascot Sandy the Seagull was on hand to greet the students. Rob Field of the Cyclones staff read to students from P.S. 153. The Book Patrol is designed to cultivate reading awareness and activities among children in Brooklyn. Field, a Cyclones account executive reads to students as Sandy the Seagull sits with the kids.
