Canadian Connection Brings Pharmaceuticals To Your Home

AmeriMeds is a service that assists senior citizens and others who want to save money by ordering their prescription medicines from Canada. Many people, not only seniors on Medicare but everyone without drug coverage, can benefit by taking advantage of the lower prices of prescription medications ordered from Canada.

Elissa McGowan, a retired former legal secretary, who is a consultant for AmeriMeds, had to buy some very expensive medicines for herself two years ago and it cost her more than $400 a month to fill her prescriptions locally.

"I simply couldn’t afford it," she said. "I tried taking only one per day, when two were prescribed for me, but I still had the pain associated with my illness. I really struggled for a time."

A few months later McGowan found out that two businessmen had opened a storefront office in her neighborhood and that they were offering prescription meds from Canada.

"I went right over to see how much money I could save on my prescriptions and I was able to reduce my monthly expense by about 60%," she said.

Elissa said she was so impressed and felt so strongly that people really had to have a way to get their meds less expensively that she wanted to be a part of it. So she went to work for the two businessmen in the store-front office in Forest Hills, Queens. She con-tinued to work there until the company moved its operation out of the New York City area at the end of February.

Elissa said she realized that if she formed her own affiliation with a Ca-nadian pharmacy and worked from her home, her prices could be lower and her shipping charge could be lower too.

"Stores in the area are very expensive and rented office space is also expensive," she said. "As soon as you have that kind of big overhead, the prices and shipping charge have to be increased. The fact is that I would prefer to have an office to go to but, by working from my home, I can give my customers the benefit of really low prices and the lowest shipping charge being offered."

She said the Canadian pharmacy with which she is affiliated is well-known and has been in business for more than 60 years. "All medicines are received by the customers in manufacturers’ sealed bottles direct from the pharmacy. There are no ‘extras’ added on and no hidden charges. It is only the price of the medicine plus the $10.99 shipping charge."

"Don’t forget," she says, "I’m a customer too!"
