Precinct C.O. Praises "Tremendous,"

Deputy Inspector Robert Johnsen

Community Council Meeting Turnout

After Tuesday evening’s Com-munity Council meeting, Deputy Inspector Robert Johnsen, commanding officer of the 69th Precinct, said he was "extremely pleased at the tremendous turnout."

"This is how we can get things done in the community," he said. "We in the NYPD hear the voices of those people at the meeting and we respond. That’s the way it should be in a community like ours."

He said the attendance at the meeting, which was held at Seaview Jewish Center, was "by our count, over 140 people, clearly the largest turnout I’ve seen in my three years here."

The precinct commander urged residents to attend other local meetings, such as Community Board 18 and civic group gatherings, which are held regularly.

Announcements of those meetings, as well as other local events, can be found weekly in the Canarsie Courier’s Community Guide.
