Q: What’s this I hear about Jane Fonda returning to the big screen? I thought she had retired some years back. Annette K.

A: The 66-year-old actress will soon be seen in "Monster-in-Law" co-starring Jennifer Lopez. In it, Jane portrays a woman adamantly against her son’s marriage to Lopez, whose character is a dog walker. Jane’s last film was 1990’s "Stanley & Iris."

Q: I really enjoy ABC’s "Married to the Kellys". However, I’ve heard the show may not come back next season. Why not? It fits in really nicely on the Friday lineup, and it’s funny. Trish G.

A: Ratings are very static for the show, so if ABC can find something a bit stronger, it won’t be renewed. The same is true, by the way, of "I’m With Her" and "It’s All Relative."

Q: I’m wondering how long it will take before Katey Sagal’s character on "8 Simple Rules" will be out of mourn-ing and perhaps dating. Is it too soon after John Ritter’s passing, since he played her husband and was the focus of the show? Karen L.

A: In the upcoming last three episodes of the season, Adam Arkin is slated to play a man from Cate’s past who’s still very interested in her. Word is, he may be around a bit next season, so stay tuned.

Q: I grew up with "Family Ties" back in the ‘80s. I was wondering what Tina Yothers, who played Jen-nifer, was doing now? Is she still in show business? Deanna C.

A: Tina is still in show business in a way. She’s a rock musician, appearing on L.A.’s club scene. She’s also been cast in "Lovelace the Musical," based on the life of 1970s porn star, Linda Lovelace, who starred in "Deep Throat." As of now, the show is planned to run in both New York and L.A.
