Cops Arrest Suspect In Series
Of Robberies On Ralph Avenue

Only a few minutes after allegedly robbing a woman on Ralph Avenue last Monday, a Bedford Stuyvesant man who fit the description of a
man responsible for a recent string of
robberies in the area was arrested by police.

Quentin Cunningham, 33, was charged with five counts of robbery, according to NYPD spokesman Police Officer Phillip Pazzo.

The spokesman said Cunningham pretended he had a gun when he accosted a 58-year-old woman near Flatlands Avenue at about 5:45 p.m. and took her purse. He fled on foot and was picked up by 67 Precinct police two blocks away after the victim flagged down their passing patrol car.

When Cunningham was brought in for questioning, he was charged with committing a series of robberies in the area, including the alleged robbery of the Jimbo Jean Restaurant on Ralph Avenue twice, March 29 and April 13, during which he threatened customers and restaurant workers with a gun, eased himself behind the counter and stole money from a cash register.

Pazzo said the suspect was also responsible for robbing a laundromat on Glenwood Road on April 13 and the Red Stripe Café on Flatlands Avenue earlier on Monday. Charles Rogers
