2 SUSPECTS CAUGHT

IN AVE. L BURGLARIES

By Charles Rogers

Police from the 69th Precinct last week arrested two local residents and charged them in a series of burglaries committed along the Avenue L shopping strip recently.

Peter Genzone, 23, of East 93 Street and Peter Rosado, 26, of East 95 Street were picked up on April 12 at their respective homes and taken to the Foster Avenue station house, where they were charged with burglary and possession of burglar tools.

According to Lieutenant Dennis McCreight, who heads the local squad, the burglaries were part of a pattern where the suspects would enter stores in the early morning hours by either forcing the gates in front of the store or by a side window or door.

Four of the robberies for which the pair are charged occurred between January 7 and March 25, McCreight said. All of them took place in stores between East 93 Street and East 95 Street, he added.

The suspects are also being questioned regarding previous burglaries in the area, including others along the Avenue L shopping strip which ranges from Remsen Avenue to Rockaway Parkway.

Rosado has an arrest record dating back to 1998 which includes assault and possession of burglary tools. No information on Genzone’s background was released.
