Five Hurt In Remsen Avenue Collision

A 26-year-old woman and her four-year-old daughter, who were crossing Avenue K at the intersection of Remsen Avenue, were injured when they were struck by a 1996 Honda sedan that hit a traffic stanchion and smashed into a 1998 Ford Suburban, tossing the SUV on its side. The drivers of both cars and a passenger were also hurt in the crash, which occurred Monday morning. None of the injuries appeared to be serious, police said. According to a report filed at the 69th Precinct, the driver of the Honda said he was traveling west on Avenue K when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the stanchion and the two pedestrians. His car then smashed into the Suburban, overturning it. Charles Rogers
