Community Guide The Brooklyn College Art Gallery at the Brooklyn War Memorial will sponsor a Women’s Only Art Show, entitled "P.M.S. — Painters, Musicians, Sculptors." The show runs through April 8, Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Community Meetings Community Development NOT At Bergen Beach Youth HQ The NYC Department of Youth and Community Development will present a Community Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Abe Stark Senior Center, 103-15 Farragut Road and not at the Bergen Beach Youth Organization, Bergen Avenue, as previously announced. The purpose of the hearing is to receive testimony from concerned residents and other stakeholders as to the service needs of low income residents of Community Board 18. Gardening Free Training For Urban Gardeners Officials of the Local Development Corporation of East New York have announced that East New York Farms will conduct a training session for gardeners who would like to sell their produce at the East New York Farmers Market. If you have a backyard garden, or you’re a community gardener in eastern Brooklyn, you may want to attend the session, which cover soil testing, growing for market, and producing good crops. A session will be held on April 17 beginning at 10 a.m. at the United Community Center Garden at the southwest corner of New Lots Avenue and Schenck Avenue. Other MS Walk Set For April 17, 18 The New York City Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will hold its 2004 MS Walk on Staten Island on Saturday, April 17 and in Manhattan on Sunday, April 18. Maimonides Needs Blood Donors The blood bank at Maimonides Medical Center, like all blood banks in the region, is currently experiencing a severe blood shortage, especially of Type O-Positive and O-Negative blood.
