‘I Love New York Winter Travel & Ski Guide’

Charles A. Gargano, Chairman of Empire State Development, which administers the I LOVE NEW YORK campaign, has announced that the 2003 2004 "I Love NY Winter Travel and Ski Guide" is now available free of charge from the New York State Division of Tourism.

"There is so much to see and do in New York this time of year, and with our new travel and ski guide you will have the perfect accessory for planning a great winter adventure," Chair-man Gargano said. "Whether you want to race down a ski slope, snowmobile on one of our rural trails, or just stroll along our city streets on a shopping excursion, this guide will help you make the most out of your winter trip in the Empire State."

The new 64-page, full-color guide lists all the State’s downhill and crosscountry skiing centers, including details on each center’s costs, rentals, number of lifts, lessons and lodges, and a New York State ski map showing each center’s location. Readers will find additional information on snowmobiling, fun winter activities for children and families, cultural adventures, late winter activities, and ideas for off the slope seasonal enjoyment. The guide also contains a winter events calendar.

With the guide, travelers can easily choose ski areas in the Empire State that are both within their ideal traveling distances and suited to their skiing needs. In the southern regions of New York are the Catskill Mountains, with their unique charm and proximity to New York City. The northern region of the state boasts the unsurpassed combination of the incredible Adirondack scenery, terrain variety, great verticals and small town charm. The central portion of the state features ski areas with distinct personalities, abundant snow and unlimited opportunities for winter fun. In Western New York, travelers will find firstclass resorts with a wide variety of skiing terrain and luxurious slopeside accommodations.
