THE WORD... A SIX POINT PEACE PLAN As a boy I remember being asked to give thanks before our family Christmas meal. I vividly remember praying that God would reveal to us the real meaning of the Christmas holiday. I was not a Christian at that time. It was several years later, after I graduated from college, that I really understood Christmas. God finally answered my prayer. I found that Christ came into the world because people like me are sinners. That’s right, I am a sinner! I really knew that. I was unhappy with myself and with life. I knew my life style was not the way to happiness. Why? Because there was a gnawing lack of peace within my heart. I was not at peace within myself But all that changed. A concerned Christian explained to me how Christ brings personal peace. You see, Christ heals that inner lack of peace by forgiving sins. Christ cleanses the heart from the feelings of guilt and He gives new direction and meaning to life. I can tell you for sure, Christ did that for me. The thing is, the Bible tells us that Christ is the "Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6). When Christ entered the world in human form as a babe in a manger, the angels sang, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men" . . . (Luke 2:14). The point is, if you want real peace, you need to come to the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. You need to trust Him for the forgiveness of your sins. You need to begin a new life by following Him.
