Bikers Do Their Annual Thing At Four Season’s Center
By Yolanda Pittman

Bikers clubs from throughout the area pose after they converged on the Four Seasons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Nor rain, nor sleet or snow could keep the 15th Annual Christmas Celebration given by the American Bikers’ Club from going on at the Four Seasons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 1555 Rockaway Parkway on Sunday, December 14, 2003. Joined by two other bikers clubs, The Unknown of Williamsburg, and the Uncaged Americans of Marine Park, Santa Claus and the one and only Joey
with a "C" as emcee, the American Biker’s Club out of Sheepshead Bay welcomed all to stop in and celebrate the holidays. Despite somewhat dismal weather, the party went on, and was enjoyed by all.

Raffles, karaoke, photos with Santa and Harley Davidsons were
all a part of the festivities. Club President Anthony White, Sr. and club member Mike Rodgers were on hand, as well as many other members of the club, to help give out the many gifts Santa had brought for the seniors of the Four Seasons. The Fire Department, represented by its Canarsie branch Engine 257 and Ladder 170, were presented with a plaque of appreciation by the Club for their year-round support of the Four Seasons and others in the
community, but were called off to
an emergency. A hero’s work is
never done!

Director of Recreation at the Four Seasons, Dana Mayo, and his staff were on hand to assist with the days’ festivities and glee, as well. Sherri Proctor accompanied her daughter, Jacquet, who is a member of the local Girl Scout troop and a regular attendee of this yearly celebration.
"I think it’s wonderful to have this occasion for senior citizens and watch their faces light up", stated Mrs. Proctor, as she watched seniors join in with Joey with a C, who was
serenading the crowd with renditions of great songs like "My Girl" by the Temptations. "It’s really a joy to
see these great people with their
families make this commitment
every year in order to give something back to their community like this" "God Bless em’!", commented another visitor, Mrs. Ana Lewis.

There were a number of Bikers Clubs represented at the annual affair.
Firefighters from Engine Co. 257 and Ladder Co. 170 were singled out for special honors at the event.
