Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of adults in the United States, taking about 960,000 lives annually.

Cardiovascular diseases claim more lives than the next six leading causes of death combined, including cancer, accidents, pneumonia and influenza, diabetes and suicides.

Sudden cardiac arrest claims about 220,000 adults in the U.S.

Each day more than 600 Americans die due to sudden cardiac arrest.

More than 95 percent of sudden cardiac arrest victims die before reaching the hospital.
