Woman Pistol-Whipped, Robbed Of $1M Cash And Jewelry, She Says A woman who had been selling jewelry to local nursing homes and other adult facilities around the borough for years was pistol-whipped and robbed as she left one of the facilities in Canarsie last Thursday night, police said. The 30-year-old victim, whose name was not released, was attacked on Rockaway Parkway near Avenue J as she was getting in her car with another woman, she told police. Sergeant James O’Neill of the 69th Precinct Detective Squad said the victim reported that two men approached her and her friend, grabbed her and began to hit her about the head with a black handgun. "One of the men began yelling, ‘shoot her, shoot her,’ to the other man," O’Neill said. "Then the first man reached into the car and took a briefcase containing the jewelry." He said witnesses stated both suspects fled on foot east on Truckelman’s Lane, located between Flatlands Avenue and Avenue J, where they jumped into a dark van. The victim was treated at the scene by Emergency Medical Service paramedics and refused further medical treatment. Her friend was not hurt. The suspects were both described as black. One weighs about 180 lbs and stands about six feet. He was wearing a ski-hooded grey jacket and a Police said the victim stated she had been carrying with her "almost $1 million" in cash and jewelry at the time of the robbery. "We’re currently investigating that aspect of the crime," said Sergeant O’Neill. "Right now we’re checking as to how much was actually taken from the victim."
