Big Top Goes Up for Big Shows In Brooklyn

In case you were wondering what the commotion was along Avenue U, south of Marine Park, early yesterday morning, it was the Clyde Beatty-Cole Bros. Circus setting up for its annual ten-show run in Brooklyn as part of its annual barnstorming tour. Hours be-fore the initial performance yesterday afternoon,a massive red and yellow tent was raised just after dawn as early morning commuters rubbernecked and many neighborhood residents watched in awe as the Big Top raised.

After the tent raising several elephants, some weighing close to five tons, and an army of workers did their part in setting up the Big Top. Those who were present were also treated to a behind-the-scenes view of circus life.
