An embittered relationship between a mother and her daughter is further eroded when the pair end up living and working together in their self-owned bridal boutique in the Showtime Original Picture Wild Iris. Premiering exclusively on Showtime on Sunday, August 5th at 8:00 pm (ET/PT), the 92-minute film stars Gena Rowlands, Laura Linney, Emile Hirsch, Lee Tergesen, Fred Ward and Miguel Sandoval.

It’s been eight years since Iris’s (Linney) husband committed suicide, forcing Iris and her 15-year old son (Lonnie) Hirsch) to "temporarily" move in with her mother Min (Rowlands). Sparks fly as the dysfunctional family continues to live and work together under the same roof in their family-owned bridal business. Min and Iris spend their days operating the successful Bluebirds Bridals like a well-oiled machine. When not bickering with one another, they convince a reluctant Errol Podubney (WARD) to pay for the wedding of his very pregnant daughter. They also employ the very suave Mando (Sandoval), a wedding photographer who, much to Iris’s disdain, focuses more on Min than on the brides.

No one in their crossfire is spared, least of all Iris’s son Lonnie. Lud (Tergesen), the only male influence in Lonnie’s young life, provides a welcome respite at the service station where he works over summer break. Bright but withdrawn, Lonnie is loved by both women. Still, unable to cope with his toxic environment, he looks for relief. He treasures his father’s memory and ponders suicide as a way out. Caught up in their own battles, Min and Iris fail to recognize Lonnie’s desperation.
